Mike GriffinMike Griffin, Pastor

Pastor Mike Griffin came to Grant’s Creek in July of 2004.  Mike grew up in the rural east Alabama town of Lineville. Upon graduation from Lineville High School he came to the University of Alabama with plans to pursue a physical education degree and a career in coaching. It was during his college years that he trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and during that time God began to redirect his thinking about his future. After graduation Mike taught school and coached for one year before realizing that God was calling him into full time ministry. He then began to pursue theological education that would eventually lead him into the youth and music ministry in a local church. After serving for thirteen years in this capacity in four churches, Mike felt God’s call again, this time to the preaching ministry. So it was back to school again for two additional years, and then on to his first pastorate in Berlin, New Hampshire, where he served six and one half years. Prior to coming to Grant’s Creek, Mike pastored in Aliceville, Alabama for eleven years.

Mike has been married to his wife Janice for thirty-two years. They have three grown daughters and three grandchildren.  As time permits Mike enjoys hanging out with his family, playing basketball and tennis, and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
